About the Course
Homes are deeply cherished places and storehouses of memory, very worthy subjects to learn how to paint. A home portrait is a beautiful way to preserve and honor these special places while creating an heirloom piece that can be passed down for years to come.
I have had the privilege of painting many home portraits over the years, and in this course I will be breaking down my process and showing you exactly how I create them from start to finish. Each section of the course will build on the next as we cover everything from stretching paper to creating textures like brick, stone, and wood.
My goal is that by the end of this workshop you will have the skills to:
Understand the start to finish process of creating a piece, from stretching paper to removing it from the board
Accurately draw your home and transfer it to your watercolor paper
Mix color and build a palette
Paint each element of a building (windows, doors, textures, etc)
Paint a variety of landscape elements
Confidently paint not only your own home, but any of your favorite buildings
